Warkworth River Dredging
Mason Contractors and Clearwater Dredging undertook a project on the Mahurangi River and worked at restoring the river for access to the wharf situated in Warkworth, for all recreational vessels at any tide. During this process, works included dredging 96,550m3 of silt from the channel of the Mahurangi River and placement of the deleterious materials on a nearby fill site. Dredging was undertaken utilising a long reach excavator mounted on a deck barge. The excavator was fitted with GPS machine control systems to avoid over excavation.
